CBT in Norwich

If you are looking for a fully qualified CBT therapist, I invite you to take a moment to see if I might be able to help you.

Having worked in mental health for over 20 years, I have helped hundreds of people overcome their challenges and move towards a more fulfilling life.

You may have noticed that a lot of therapists are offering CBT. When you decide who to go with, it's important to ensure that they are fully BABCP accrediated. This way you can be sure they have been trained to the highest level in CBT. In addition to having this accrediation, I also teach and mentor therapists who are training to become BABCP accrediated with Anglia Ruskin University.

Regardless of what you are experiencing right now, things can improve - and I'd welcome the chance to speak with you about how we might be able to get there.

Please feel free to look around the site, see what clients have said and, if my approach resonates with you, take the first step in moving forward by giving me a call.

Even if I cannot help, I'll do my very best to point you in the right direction.

"Thank you for all your support, intelligence and consistency. You coached me through depression, into a very challenging teaching role, off my medication and kept reminding me I'm normal."

How many sessions will I need?

It's always hard to know how many sessions this will take. Most people get what they need in around ten sessions. A good rule of thumb is to commit to six sessions, and then on session six, we'll take stock, see how you're going, and see if you need any more. If you find that you don't need that many sessions, that's fine too. Often people like to have a clear idea of cost if you get in touch we can discuss assessment fees and I will advise you on request of the fees and how many sessions may be required during the initial assessment interview, once I have a clear idea of your needs.

About me

I have been involved in mental health work since 1990, when I started domiciliary work with schizophrenics. I went on to train as a registered mental health nurse. From then on, I have applied myself to extensive and varied psycho therapeutic training in order to get the best knowledge base possible. This training culminated in my completion of the first BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy) accredited post graduate level training at the University of Derby. During my studies I developed a special interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I now work full time as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist with clients requiring expert help involving high intensity psychological therapy. I also take on referals for assessment and treatment from private health care insurance providers, employee assistance schemes, occupational health organisations, rehabilitation and insurance agents. I am based in Norwich and offer CBT to people accross the east of England.

How can I be helpful to you?

I can help you to learn how to help yourself to:

  • Disentangle yourself from negative thinking patterns and unwanted feelings, which keep you from living a fuller more valued life.
  • Become more conversant with what really matters to you and develop willingness to ACT on that understanding, rather than feeling powerless to change.
  • Learn how to ACT with better self-esteem and self-confidence, by raising self-awareness, and gaining a clearer sense of direction.
  • Learn how to pause and observe what is really happening right now, and ACT on it for the benefit of yourself and those that you love - instead of trying harder and harder to achieve less and less of what is really important to you.
